- Markets
Built in 1881 based on plans by Adolphe Vanderheggen, on the site of the former Saint-Géry church, of which the elegant obelisk fountain remains, Les Halles Saint-Géry was long known as the “belly of Brussels.” People worked, laughed, and traded there. It was a market, but above all, it was a theater of everyday life.
In the spring of 2026, the building will reconnect with its original spirit to become the Marché Saint-Géry.
